The Teen Book Club is designed to encourage an appreciation for a variety of literature and cultural issues, increase social skills, and promote use of the Belgrade Community Library. Students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to participate.
The Club meets to discuss young adult literature and engage in activities related to themes or genres, rather than particular books. Monthly topics are selected in consultation with Club members.
The Belgrade Community Library recognizes that young adult literature includes a diverse body of material that may or may not appeal to all teens. Librarians are available to help students select books that match interests and reading levels; however, librarians' book ideas are merely suggestions. Each book selection is made by the student in consultation with his or her parents/guardians.
We encourage each student to discuss participation in the Teen Book Club with parents/guardians before joining the Club. We welcome the attendance of your teen and will work to provide an enjoyable and enriching experience for all of our attendees.
