Snow & Avalanche Safety Workshop

Thursday, Dec 1 OR 8 (same topics both dates, different methods)

Join us as we learn about the basics of snow and avalanche safety for the upcoming ski, snowboard, and snowmobile seasons. This free, short workshop will cover the basics as well as have demonstrations of common safety equipment for snowy terrain.

This workshop will take place on Thursday, Dec 1 or Dec 8 from 6-7:30PM. Both workshops will cover the same topics with different methods.

Dec 1's workshop will be led by Eric Knoff of Six Points Avalanche Education. A couples' lift ticket to Big Sky Resort and 2 Bridger Bowl tickets will be the door prizes for the night!

Dec 8 will be led by Friends of Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center's Education Program. 4 Bridger Bowl lift ticket will be the door prizes for the night!

This workshop is free with no registration required. Pizza will also be provided.

The Library is hosting a holiday party on Dec 10 from 4-8PM.

Holiday Party: Live Music & Christmas Convoy Watch Party

Saturday, Dec 10 from 4-8PM

Enjoy the holiday season at the library! We will be hosting a Holiday Party which will include a concert, crafts, cookies, ciders, celebrations, and the Christmas Convoy! (”C” what we did there?). Our evening is planned as follows:

  • 4-5:30PM: Live Music with an MSU String Quartet
  • 5:30-6:30PM: Crafts, cider, cookies, & games
  • 6:30-8:00PM: Watch the Christmas Convoy pass by the library

The Foundation’s Holiday Book Sale will also be taking place during this time in our upstairs Meeting Room.

Note: the library will not be opened its regular hours (10AM-2PM) that day as we prep for the party!

Adult Crafternoon

Adult Crafternoons are monthly craft projects with supplies and instructions provided by the Library, that usually happen on the 2nd Thursday of the Month as either take-home kits or LIVE events in the Library’s Meeting Room.

The date may vary for LIVE events.

Fitness at the Library

The library provides fitness classes seasonally throughout the year either outside or in the community room upstairs.

Book Clubs

The library hosts two book clubs each month. In addition to these book clubs the library also can check out a book club kit to existing community book clubs or groups.
