Summer Reading Program 2023

CSLP-Children-Slogan_textSummer Reading fun kicks off June 1 for all ages! Join the library in coming All Together Now to celebrate Kindness, Friendship, and Unity this summer. Our kick-off party will take place on June 14 from 10 am to 2 pm.

We will have reading tracking systems for each age group to encourage you to read and give you an opportunity to win prizes!

We will also have a variety of programs to join in on, from in-house events to guests and activities at the Belgrade Community Market every Thursday evening between June 30 and September 1.

Reading Logs

Youth Program

Pick up your Reading Logs and Outdoor Bingo sheets at the library! Complete your Reading Log (20 to 30 minutes per sticker space depending on age) to receive a free book. Turn in completed Reading Logs and Outdoor Bingo sheet to receive entries into prize drawings.

Teens / Grades 6 through 12

Participate in our teen events:

  • Digital art afternoons (using Procreate on library iPads): June 13, July 11 and August 8 (second Tuesdays of the month) from 3:30-5:00 PM. Please visit the teen page for the signup for the month!
  • Virtual reality teen time: June 20, July 18, and August 15 (third Tuesdays of the month) from 3:30-5:00 PM.
  • Teen crafternoons - please see teen page for sign-ups each month:
    • Wool Felt Crafternoon: Monday, June 26, 1:00 - 3:00 PM 
    • Macramé Crafternoon: Wednesday, July 19, 2:30 - 4:30 PM
    • Blackout Poetry & Book Spine Poetry: Wednesday, August 23, 1:00 -2:30 PM
  • July 7 - Teen Movie Time (High School Musical!): 1:00 PM
  • August 2 - Outdoor Games: 1:00 PM
  • August 17 - Volunteering with friendship bracelet fun: 4-7 PM (for however long you can) at the library's table at the Belgrade Community Market

Adults/18+

Collect your reading log from the Circulation Desk. Track the number of books you read and for each log submitted and adult event attended, you will be entered into a drawing.

  • June 14 (10 am to 2 pm): Summer Reading Kick-off Party
  • Every other Monday (starting on June 12): Pick up STEAM kits at the Library
  • June 20-22 (10:30 AM): STEAM Minicamp: Geology Rocks! Sign up online.
  • June 26 (1 PM): Teen Wool Felt Crafternoon
  • June 27 (12:45 PM): Intergenerational Reading Buddies at the Belgrade Senior Center
  • July 6: "Piecing Together the Past" with Museum of the Rockies (See Note) 
  • July 7 (1 PM): Teen Movie Time - High School Musical!
  • July 10-12 (10:30 AM): STEAM Minicamp: Amazing Animals!
  • July 13 (5-6 PM): Angora Rabbits with Little Blessings Ranch/Gallatin Conservation District (See Note)
  • July 19 (2:30 PM): Teen Macramé Crafternoon
  • July 20 (6-6:45 PM): "Unity Through Laughter" Magic Show (See Note)
  • July 24-26 (10:30 AM): STEAM Minicamp: Blasting Off Into Space!
  • July 25 (12:45 PM): Intergenerational Reading Buddies at the Belgrade Senior Center

  • August 31: Last day to turn in reading logs, bingo sheets, and reviews at Belgrade Library

Note: These events will be held during the Belgrade Community Market at the Belgrade Senior Center Lawn from 4 PM to 7 PM, unless otherwise noted.
